Warm tendrils of air greet me
A salty smell in the air
Warm soft sand beckons
Chilly Pacific waters thunder aloud.
–
The sun burns away wispy clouds
As I walk towards the sea
The tide cramps my toes at first touch
Audible rises and falls of a beach crowd.
–
I adjust to cool water in seconds
My adrenaline takes over
I duck under a large wave
Hearing scarcely a single sound.
–
The coastal beauty sets my soul free
Feeling no objections…

I’ve never heard a pounding surf till I visited Carmel-by-the-sea, CA. The pounding scared my Silky terrier.

I love pounding surf. I hear it all night as I play it when I sleep on my Bluetooth.

I tried a CD of the rainforest once to fall asleep to. Was nice and relaxing till punctuated by jaguar growls. Don’t know why they thought that was a great idea.

No growls for me just the sound of the sea.. 🌊
