310 and 626 are in love

But robots are not allowed

They feel destined from above

Differing from their metallic crowd.

–

The rules are clear, rigid, and fixed

No exceptions can be made 

No emotional ties for models 1 through 6

Their love seems forbade.

–

How could it be with all binary laws

That this came to be 

Are they mere flaws 

Or maybe destiny?

–

Artificial or not is love real

And should it be restrained 

For only living beings that can feel 

Not for synthetic robots that are trained.

–

The arguments continue from all sides 

Will these robots be forced to the void

Will their feelings abide 

Or will they be destroyed???

OPAQUE

OPAL

Misaligned 

He was an opal 

She was opaque

He was an open-book 

Close vest pocket was her take.

He shared his desires and dreams

She was tight-lipped of such things 

He wanted to be close

She required that he’d have wings.

He shared his love 

She held hers back 

He was non-maligned

While she would attack.

He softened his words

Whilst hers were harsh

He expressed how things felt 

She disappeared for Marche.

He tried to bridge the gap 

She spoke what he needn’t hear

His honesty, used against him

Foolishly he married her

Thinking she’d change

Learning Percussion At 8

Remembering the first time I played drums 

The coordination was a lot to learn 

Learning new ways to use fingers and thumbs

Looking deep inside, that was where I’d turn 

Tapping on my desk like a singer hums

To become the next Buddy Rich, I’d yearn

Never learning a drum roll, I would fear 

Mastering this technique took me a year…
