Can I Write an A-to-Z Poem?

A challenging task is at hand.

Being that I’m writing an A-to-Z Poem.

Clearly this will be no small task.

Definitely a new poetic form I’m trying out.

Elaborate writing will be my only defense.

For this is no ordinary poetic type.

Gee, I’m off to a good start so far.

How can I give up the quest now?

I simply must continue working at it.

Jumping at the chance, I use my creativity.

Killing the time with my ramblings, a I go.

Looking to find something unique to say.

Milling about on my phone, aimlessly.

Now is the time to put forth my best effort.

Onward and upward as the cliche dictates.

Placement and pace are critical to this art.

Quietly and thoughtfully, I compose.

Rolling my fat digits on my phone.

Skillfully trying to make this work, amusing.

To get this close to the final letters is great.

Until I get the final letter will never be done.

Very carefully, I craft the final four lines.

With great precision and care.

Xanax will not be needed at this point.

Yet I feel urgency to get to the final letter.

Zen, is what completing an A-Z poem is…

I Can’t Stop Writing

I’m not going to write now I refuse

But then the words come that I must use

My creativity is taking abuse

Yet my compulsion writes as I choose

If you were in my shoes

You’d understand my views

So my brain without relief, stews

I’d rather be restful on a cruise

Alas, here I again sharing my truths

Another example which poetry proves…

One final thought as I complete these grooves

Is my art imitating life or life imitating art, it behooves…

Poetic Alchemy

I’m trying to write new poems

And new poetic forms

I’m trying to write my usual gems

While breaking all the norms.

I like the challenge it brings

And the way it pushes my mind

Writing about all sorts of things

No two are the same kind.

Stretching as I try

To contort to all the rules

Feeling my brain fry

As I utilize my tools.

I never know what I will write

Until I reach the very end

With styles, I am an alchemist tonight

As I feel my creativity bend…

A Quadrille?

Forty-four words isn’t a lot

I must use all the talent that I’ve got

To get my point across

So my audience is not at a loss

I count the words as I write

Doing my best to be contrite

So, here goes nothing…
