310 & 626

310 and 626 are in love

But robots are not allowed

They feel destined from above

Differing from their metallic crowd.

The rules are clear, rigid, and fixed

No exceptions can be made

No emotional ties for models 1 through 6

Their love seems forbade.

How could it be with all binary laws

That this came to be

Are they mere flaws

Or maybe destiny?

Artificial or not is love real

And should it be restrained

For only living beings that can feel

Not for synthetic robots that are trained.

The arguments continue from all sides

Will these robots be forced to the void

Will their feelings abide

Or will they be destroyed???

Three Things Challenge #941

Your three words today are:

OPEN

OPAQUE

OPAL

Misaligned

He was an opal

She was opaque

He was an open-book

Close vest pocket was her take.

He shared his desires and dreams

She was tight-lipped of such things

He wanted to be close

She required that he’d have wings.

He shared his love

She held hers back

He was non-maligned

While she would attack.

He softened his words

Whilst hers were harsh

He expressed how things felt

She disappeared for Marche.

He tried to bridge the gap

She spoke what he needn’t hear

His honesty, used against him

Her self-righteousness, a spear.

Foolishly he married her

Thinking she’d change

It ended badly in divorce

and that isn’t strange…

Rise Above Cruel Words

Lift up high

Over your head

Do not cry

Over what was said.

Words can maim

When used to hurt

Not the same

Or just deserved.

Knowing you

Is all that counts

Some askew

By the accounts.

Make a space

Between heard and feel

Well in place

Response ideal.

Consciousness

Is deep inside

Don’t regress

Or hide behind pride

Take in stride

All that you’ve heard

Don’t abide

Such cruel words.

-AAA 01/15/2025

Three Quantrains on Speech

When words are spoken

Mean what you say

Truth is unbroken

Keep it that way.

Choose them with care

Don’t give into fears

Lay yourself bare

Even with tears.

Just use your head

Go with the flow

Follow your heart instead

Since it’s what you know.

Summer Of Twenty-Two

Same time last summer

Why was it a bummer

You had a deep need

That I could never feed.

When you said goodbye

Rivers of tears I cried

When I realized you didn’t care

I relearned that life isn’t fair.

I put it all on the table

But your love was a fable

Painfully knowing all too late

That to you I wasn’t great.

The passions we shared

Were beyond compare

Yet you took another lover

Your lies were uncovered.

Not my lover not my friend

Didn’t have my back in the end

It’d be easy to hope for hell

But in the end I wish you well.

Take Your Time

Take your time

Do not rush

Moments fine

If you push.

All in stride

Doesn’t hurt

Deep inside

Is our worth.

Manage you

In your lane

Less miscues

And less pain

Change is good

As we grow

We’re understood

All will know.

Reaching goals

All laid out

Paying tolls

So devout.

Smile not sad

Trying best

Isn’t bad

Take a rest.

Then look back

At all done

You’re on track

Life is fun…

Doers Do

Lovers love

Haters hate

Stars above

Time is fate.

Soldiers fight

Students learn

Darkness, night

World still turns.

Livers live

Takers take

Givers give

Bakers bake.

Artists paint

Dreamers dream

Maidens faint

Dairies, cream.

Players play

Talkers speak

Slayers slay

Sadness bleaks

Runners run

Lifters lift

Authors pun

Grifters grift.

Liars lie

Tellers tell

Apples pie

Sellers sell.

Sowers sow

Greeters greet

Rowers row

Meeters meet.

Endings end

So must I

Write portend

Words won’t die…

Not Returning

Over the edge

It’s time to fall

Nothing to dredge

You’ve cleared it all.

Accept your fate

Gravity is strong

It’s far too late

Moving along.

No need to panic

What’s done is done

Don’t get manic

Reality hits a ton.

Change is hard

But sometimes needed

In this regard

Learn what is heeded.

Grow stronger

Each and every day

The distance grows longer

You’re on your way…

Feisty Bumble Bee

Feisty buzzing bumble bee

Some lift high above the trees

Flying wonder we all can see

Or catch a lift on a summer breeze.

Finding all the pretty flowering plants

Gathering nectar slightly sweet

Taking each opportunity and chance

Until their mission is complete…

Fire Journey

Standing against a fierce gale

A weighted pack upon my back

Taking on my largest fail

And using it to get on track

One step then two

Forward I move

My destination looms

As I get into my groove

Further, now I slowly progress

Pebbles and stones sting my face

Stepping into a new life was for the best

Your happiness will never go to waste

The steepness of this whistling hill

Is now slowly abating

Continuing the journey still

For a great future that’s waiting

The wind whips a final fury

As I reach the top of the hill

The final vertical awaits among the jury

As I reached the summit by my sheer will

I looked down from the top

And I can’t believe how far it goes

This phase, my evolution is at a stop

And I take stock of my previous woes

Who I am and who I’ll be

Was determined by this trek

The world will have to wait and see

My greatness versus the previous spec

Jubilation fills my heart

As I celebrate on this ridge

New exciting adventures will start

Now that I’ve crossed this shaky bridge

This is the end of the the beginning

Applying the lessons I’ve learned

This former loser now is winning

A life of happiness I have earned.

Doesn’t mean I’m in the wrong

I’ll beat to my own drummer

Nonconformity is not a sin

It’s just another way to live life

True uniqueness and weirdness too

Has sometimes been a personal strife.

In my youth I wanted to belong

So much so that it made me sad

But when I didn’t fit in with my peers

It often left me feeling bad.

What could I say to myself

If I could journey back in time

Words of encouragement and self love

Like “No, Anthony, you’re not a slime”

So I let these words flow out of me

My aims are honest and true

I love this oddball of a guy

Hater Comments Designed to Maim

Haters will hate

So the adage says

The ill will they propagate

Can last for days.

Using inflammatory words

They viciously strike you

Though their reasoning is absurd

They have nothing better to do.

We all work hard as we write

Our efforts on virtual parchment, blood

Another such soul struck tonight

And I felt the anger and hurt, flood.

I really need a thicker skin

I shouldn’t even care

After reading what was said within

I had no smile to bear.

Some folks oughta get a life

Rather than writing words unclean

Not since my ex-wife

Have I read such text, so mean.

We’re all authors, trying to succeed

Not hurt each other for sport

Encouragement is my true creed

Not succumbing to petty resorts.

Maybe it’s bitter envy I don’t know

What motivates one to hurt another

Maybe someone loses control

And just chooses to choke and smother.

I guess I just don’t know anymore

Why people would rather be dogging

Instead of setting out, resentful what more

Maybe just concentrate on blogging?

Oppressed husband and cruel life – Steemit

I felt quite neglected

It’s just that simple

Didn’t receive love as expected

Instead of a wave, a ripple

I adored you every day

And do many little things

That’s why I feel dismay

That inequality brings

I told you truth

What would the youngsters do or say

If they heard all the music I had to play

With unaided singer’s, all out on display

Non computerized instruments at the fray.

Probably, they’d find me crazy but I’m not

Just using these enormous ears I’ve got

Knowing a difference between art and rot

It’s just the weirdo that I am believe it or not.

Your music brain needs more to eat

No Happy Endings Aka The Leftovers

For some of us, there are no happy endings

No twenty year anniversaries to celebrate

Instead, divorces with alimonies pending

Leaves us remaining of in a frazzled state.

Some were high school sweethearts

Or college friends from long ago

Many of which lead to two happy hearts

While the rest of us are just status quo.

What did we do that was so wrong?

To end up with such gruesome loves

I guess we sang to a different song

With circling vultures instead of doves.

We try our best to not have envy

Watching you all celebrate

Hold it together as best we can be

Looking only to ourselves, to appreciate.

A pure love that we all read about

That is what your lives have shown

Selflessness and sacrifice in large amount

Those things, from others, we’ve never known.

So please remember us, solitary souls

As your anniversary years accrue

As we’re finding all the answers alone

Remember, you’re lucky, that someone truly loves you…

Three Things Challenge #878

Your three words today are:

CONCISE

PRECISE

PRECIOUS

Write As You Are

When you write

Be concise

To the point

Just precise.

Precious time

That you spend

Creating prose

That never ends.

Stanzas form

Lines shape up

Words fit nice

From the cuff.

Consciousness

Steams my mind

On paper

Other kinds.

Many forms

I attempt

Not unique

Or exempt.

Some are short

Some are long

Some silly

Others strong.

In the end

They are me

My own words

Set me free.

I love just

Being me

Writing is

Meant to be…

Ghosted And Dropped

In this time of crying.

You don’t see me there.

Gasping, choking, sighing.

Desperately, grasping for air.

Why did you leave me?

Where did you go?

Why must you deceive me?

I am reeling from the blow.

What did I do?

That wasn’t good enough.

Why weren’t you true?

This deception was rough.

All of your kisses.

Truly didn’t mean a thing.

My perceived hits were misses.

Hence, I was never your king.

I thought you were my forever.

Forever, plus a day.

In reality you were never.

Ever intending to stay.

First, you started ghosting.

Avoiding me in chat.

Barely responding to my posting.

You left me hard and flat.

You said you couldn’t love me.

When I told you “I love you”.

Your rejection, just crushed me.

At the time knowing not what I’d do.

So I bitterly reminisce you.

Now that you’re long gone.

And I’ll never again kiss you.

As you used me like a pawn…

What could you sell me

What else could you reveal

That would set everything right

What could you gesture, a meal

To appease all my appetites

What could you do to restore faith

Then and only then your kindness starts

So, why so often are you a wraith

Cruelty not love, did you impart.

What other games would you play

Toying with the purest heart

When your final hand is played

Is when resentment starts.

How far will your “sorries” go

To reassert my favor with you

Are you truly sorry, “no”

The main reason I left you.

Marriages come then they go

When someone leaves it’s earned

After years of the to and fro

The love, destroyed, it’s burned…

Wake-up And Write

Just awake

Crumbs in eyes

Vision’s blur

Then blue skies.

Nothing wrote

After nine

Get in gear

I’ll be fine.

Saturday

Sleeping in

Much to write

Sure I’ll win!

Picking forms

For today

This one now

Hard to say.

Three count syls

Just a sneeze

These quatrains

Are a breeze.

Rhymes four

After two

Created

When I’m through.

Next stanza

Keep going

Ideas

Are flowing.

Where they lead

I don’t know

As I write

Poem grows.

Mind to phone

Then it’s blogged

Much work left

Brain not fogged.

Nice going

Nearly through

Words escape

What I do.

iPhone notes

Quickly write

Finish line

Is in sight.

So read up

Nearly done

Wake poems

Are much fun…

Wake Up, Go To Bed, Repeat

Wake up now

Day begin

Lots to do

Planners win.

So get dressed

Put on clothes

Brush your hair

Blow your nose.

Socks are on

Shoes as well

Grab your coat

Feeling swell.

Grab your keys

Lock the door

Off to work

Then the store.

Office bound

Traffic bad

Journey slow

Drives you mad.

Music plays

Happy songs

Always rights

Commute wrongs.

Then arrive

Plenty work

Take my lunch

A nice perk.

Finish work

Homeward bound

Once again

Traffic found.

Music plays

Once again

Much akin

An old friend.

Later home

Dinner ate

Clean the pans

Wash the plates.

Then relax

Read a book

Eyes heavy

Day’s toll took.

Back to bed

No sorrow

All redone

For tomorrow…

So breezy

Warm fall day

Shining sun

Much to say.

Breezes blow

Swaying trees

Dusty air

Thank you please.

Parks are full

Playgrounds too

Screaming kids

Joyful view.

Some will swim

In warm pools

Soak up rays

They’re no fools.

People dance

Music plays

Beat goes on

Night and day.

End this jaunt

Good times had

Warm fall days

Never bad…

A Poets Work is Never Done

Consonants, syllables, words, and beat

These are the color pallets of a poet

There are no shortcuts or way to cheat

Ask any one of us, as we all know it

Usually one line comes to mind

As we create something new

Each poem, one of a kind

As our processes are tried and true

Counting syllables with one hand

Per the rules of a poetry type

Only a poet understands

The efforts involved as they write

Often when the writing is done

One stanza must be erased

This is part of our editing fun

As our poems form, post haste

Quatrains, haikus, raikus, and quadrilles

A myriad of forms for the poet to choose

Using our creativity to climb those hills

So that our readers will be amused

Then at last we’re finally through

All the words are down and complete

There’s nothing really left to do

Except go to WordPress and publish the latest suite.

You tear me apart with every word

You strip away my flesh and bone

This situation is quite absurd

You’re toxic treatment I can’t condone

You manipulated me and told lies

Many false words led me astray

Relationships dwindle when the love dies

The best parts of me were ripped away

I covered you in my blanket of love

You smothered me in your cruel hate

I brought you peace like a dove

And you left me to choke on my fate

Through great effort I lost all that weight

And I gained a lot of muscle

You never noticed until it was too late

Rendering moot much my hustle

A starving man, I was neglected

As your love was withheld from me

Instead of being protected

Your ugliness consumed me

I wanted to be your lover

Though you never really did care

Instead I got screwed over

And you were my cross to bear

So I had bid goodbye to you

Long before you left our sacral bed

Today I try to think the best of you

But worms of your memory burrow holes in my head… ~ ~ ~

Separate Ways

We had gone as far as we could.

Said all that we could say.

We can do no further good.

So neither of us want to stay.

Our last words are being said.

Along with a deep firm hug.

For one last time I held her head.

Feeling my heart give that familiar tug.

The times we had were very hard.

Many situations were each unfair.

Our story mapped on a crooked chart.

Painful times we both did share.

As I hold her for the last time.

Fresh warm tears stain my face.

Break-ups are horrible like the scene of a crime.

Pain, ruin, and destruction all over the place.

What was the final cause?

I’m not sure if we’ll ever know.

Many bad circumstances we tripped across.

Never finding any stability or flow.

We share heartfelt goodbyes.

And many “I’m sorries” in our embrace.

We let go, I give kiss her forehead as she cries.

I softly wipe the tears streaking down her face.

The life we shared now at an end.

And the memories of it today, are just a haze.

Once we were lovers, but now distant friends.

Parting, each we go our separate ways…

Pecos Bill and His Stagecoach Rocket

Slue Foot Sue I’ll see you real soon

We’re in a rocket and on our way

Your bustle bounce brought you to the moon

And we’ll be reunited in just over a day.

The countdown starts

The clock starts to run

Our rocket departs

As the count reaches one.

Shimmy and shake

Like a busting bronco would

Such a commotion for your sake

I’d do it again if I could.

We speed up faster

Leaving the earth

Risk is our master

No time for mirth.

All the coyotes howled

For one last time

Our wedding was fouled

I’m undoing that crime.

Patience my dear

It’s been a long while

Your Pecos Bill is getting near

Bring out your smile.

The moon grows large

As we approach

This NASA barge

Is our stagecoach.

It’s been many years

It’s taken so long

Frustration and tears

Now turned into song.

I can see your pretty face

And ocean blue eyes

It’s now just a race

Through star filled skies.

Traveling fast is such great fun

Pushing the rocket to the limit

Faster than a bullet from my gun

A stagecoach rocket with your Bill in it.

Hit the retros we’re slowing down

I hoot and holler as we get near

I’ll soon be in your lunar town

Hang on darlin I’m almost here…

Silent Contemplations

What is forever?

I cannot say.

What is never?

Less by one day?

How far away is far?

Time can only tell.

Can you get there by car,

or taxi as well?

How much is too much?

What would be the weight?

Is a lot a bunch?

Tell me don’t hesitate.

Does love conquer all?

The great poets say so.

We all rise and fall.

As life takes its toll.

When is enough enough?

Is it less than a lot?

I’m shooting here from the cuff.

Show me what you got.

How deep is space?

Astronomers don’t know

Does black matter displace?

Quantum theory think so.

How difficult is hard?

Can I quantitate?

In this query’s regard,

I must hesitate.

When will this poem end?

I think it’ll end now

Thank you for reading my friend

Now go in peace, and how…

Where Did We Go Wrong? Everywhere…

Cacophony of rhetoric

Fractured nation state.

Differences aside

Drop foolish pride

Look for commonality

ANTIFA or QANON shrews

No lives and nothing to do

Create insane conspiracies

And pass them off as news.

What happened to compromise

Creative thinking and improvise

Using our mere brains

Rather than buying into stupid lies.

What happened to science and sooth

Instead there’s heresay by the uncouth

Spatting of myriads of falsities

And passing them off as factual truth.

These past few years idiocracy has boomed

With the real facts buried, entombed

We’d better find the common truth fast

Or as a society we are doomed…

Restful drop.

Shadows fall

Curl into ball

Kitten dreams call

Rest then crawl.

I Was Disgustingly Yours

I once was yours

In that vain

Endless chores

Pouring rain.

Hateful notions

Thrown at me

Lackluster devotion

In an empty sea.

Promises given

But never delivered

Agendas hidden

Coldness shivered

Heartless mental abuse

At your very hands

In my pain you’d amuse

Making other sticky plans.

Inside was out

And outside in

Matriarchal clout

Cold ice within.

You though you were clever

That I’d eternally chomp at the bit

Until I saw never, your forever

Then I wised up and quit.

Less and less I look back

All the lessons have been learned

I greatly suffered from your lack

Someday, your karma will be returned…

Fall Harvest Bounty

The crops are ready

The time is now

Work them rocksteady

Get off your plow.

Grab all the baskets

Fill them to the top

Work and be tacit

As you harvest the crop.

Time is of the essence

Make your work fast

Only with your presence

Can this bounty last.

With aggregate need

You tussle and toil

So that many will feed

From this fertile rich soil.

Grab the trucks

And your van

Load them with your bounty

As fast as you can.

For hunger grows

In this small town

God only knows

This horrible noun.

The trucks are gone

With food in tow

The fields move on

With new crops to grow…

EARTH DAY BIRTHDAY

Earth Day

Was his birthday

He shared this occasion

With some ovation.

Some elation

And celebration

Pomp and circumstance

Some songs and dance.

Cake for all

Relatives call

Sharing fun

Under the sun

Until the day is done

And next year, a better one…

WITHOUT A GOODBYE

I withdraw my claim on your heart

A claim you never would accept

I knew this from the very first start

At the realization I softly wept.

Generosity for you was just a word

Mind games and tricks emptied my soul

It boggles the mind of all that occurred

Continuously under your control.

Why were you so cruel

I guess I’ll never know

Playing me for a fool

That’s how it would go.

I imagine your shock and anger

That I had the gall to leave

Your mind, filled with rancor

For losing my money, you’d grieve.

I doubt you learned a thing

With all the pain you wrought

Another was your king

You just were never caught.

Smoke your cigarettes

And bide your time

Karma will find you soon I bet

Repaying all your emotional crimes…

Women Are Superior

Women are superior

To all of us men

We simply are inferior.

From fawn to mother hen

Women are smarter

Rare exception now and then.

Their chromosomes for starters

They have two X’s

Genetically they’re just hardier.

That’s why they’re the fairer sexes

They’ll outlive us all

For some men, it vexes.

But I don’t mind at all

Without them there’d be no birth

Men having babies, humanity would fall.

An unpopulated earth

We can’t bear the pain

Or appreciate the worth.

Women are stronger in that vain

They can handle a lot

What drives men insane.

The instincts they’ve got

To care and love

For their children they’ve fought.

They’re blessings from above

Some say they came from a rib

Patience and peace like a dove.

They often change you in your crib

They wash you and sing you songs

When eating they change your bib.

In childhood righting all your wrongs

Giving lessons and advice

In caring arms where we belong.

Their gentle souls are quite nice

Patience, virtue, complexity, smarts

I’ve seen exception, three times or twice.

But generally they have amazing hearts

Capacity to feel all feelings there are

And the wisdom each imparts.

Walking, and talking, or in your car

Passionate and unafraid

Even with emotional scars.

Their will obeyed

It’s the least we can do

They are not maids.

Or a cleaning crew

They accomplish much more

Than us men can do.

So know the score

I place them on a pedestal

Now and forever more…

Nero’s Lesson

Art, Untitled (Blue) by Pinchas Maryan

Leaders that hate

Leaders like Nero

There’s no debate

They’re absolute zero.

Compassion lacking

Hatred up front

Cruelty gobsmacking

Insanely blunt.

War is hell

A hell they love

Their people aren’t well

Poverty they shove.

Propaganda and lies

Political machines

Mother and babe cries

And all in between.

Murder or revolution

Will make them retire

A simple conclusion

Like Nero and the Roman Empire.

Ché, Pott, Castro, Perón

Lenin, Stalin, Pinochet, and Hitler

Men content to be alone

No exceptions, a stickler.

 –

Death before compromise

Led to bitter ends

Only now can we surmise

What tyranny portends.

Societies fall, it’s no riddle

As the world turns

Nero and his proverbial fiddle

Playing as his Rome burns…

The Hard Honest Truth

Facts as they are

Nothing but the truth

Lessons leave a scar.

I know it’s uncouth

But life is quite hard

You want some proof?

Well in this regard

Look in the mirror

And look real hard.

Only then you’ll care

And make concessions

For life it will scare.

When applying its lessons

Many with some pain

Save your confessions.

For the criminally insane

You know yourself

Just use your brain.

For knowledge is wealth

The memories are here

No need for stealth.

Get your life in gear

Get off of your phone

Stop shedding your tears

Sabbatical out of your comfort zone

Challenge your every skill

Remember that you and you alone.

Can swallow the ‘red pill’

End all your strife

Using your sheer will.

Finally get a life

While you can

Find a new wife.

Lend a helping hand

Share your mistakes

At will, your command.

Show that even when life breaks

And things go off unplanned

Doing all that it takes

Only then, you’ll understand…

Saturday’s All Write

Saturday morning

And it’s time to hustle

Without warning

Must use my creative muscle.

Placing some prose

From mind to phone

Plenty of those

Quiet, here, alone.

Coining a phrase

Or three or four

Whatever the case

I must write more.

My Friday views

Are often low

Why all readers less choose

I guess I’ll never know

All the while

I’ll get it straight

Write and file

Until I’ve done eight.

Micro poems

A haiku or two

A Clogyrnach gem

Or Dizain in view.

Then I can relax

Free of sorrow

Have a few snacks

Or write for tomorrow…

NICE GUYS FINISHED LAST UNTIL…

What am I good for?

That’s a great question

I’ve been asked before

With a little concession.

Why am I so sensitive?

My ex-wife of asked

As if it was preventative

“Be a man” I was tasked.

But what if I was every bit a man?

As a less sensitive contemporary

That’d violate all your plans

As you made me feel less exemplary.

What if I knew all they did?

In passion and love as well

But you never accepted my bid

Preferring to treat me like hell.

Do nice guys finish last?

The truth is we pretty much do

Until the world wakes up fast

Excepting our point of view.

Are we to be counted out?

Absolutely not

As our loyalty is devout

Only then not an afterthought…

NOTHING

Nothing is what you gave

Nothing is what you are

Nothing for us to save

Nothing even now, afar.

Nothing is what you’ll do

Nothing is what you stand for

Nothing left for me to do

Nothing but closing that door.

Nothing is what you had in your heart

Nothingness you steered me to

Nothing from the very start

Nothing but relief, now that we’re through…

Journey To Your Self

Don’t sweat the small stuff

Our life is very long

Take each lesson even if rough

In stride for one day you’ll be strong.

Take each opportunity

That comes your way

Don’t get caught up in scrutiny

Make the most of every day.

Just keep going

You’re always in motion

Crushing your journey

With your inner devotion.

Someday you’ll move miles

And on others just inches

Do so with a smile

Even when life pinches.

Always experience grace

With general gratitude

Move at your own pace

Exhibit a positive attitude.

This journey is important

It’s where you become the best

The steepest climbs are potent

But you will pass this test.

Now give yourself a hug

Because you’ve nearly made it

Feel your heart and pride tug

For the progress you created…
