Stories Of Old

Tell me your secrets of old

Of magic times in distant lands

Before my heart grows cold

Tell me while I understand.

Tales of the valiant and brave

Princesses and castles long gone

Plenty of heroes and occasional knave

Sit with me quietly and I’ll go on.

Magicians and jesters

And all in between

Evil princes that pester

Great kings that might have been.

Sorcery and witchcraft ate afoot

Watch out where you move and see

One bad step and your journeys’s moot

You be all trapped instead of free.

Not all witches are evil or bad

Some cast nice magic spells

While others may drive you mad

With only time can you tell.

Swordsman and maidens everywhere

Countless battles and wars fought

Treasure and riches beyond compare

Life and death as destiny’s wrought.

Persons poor, humble, and proud

Beginnings so harsh they’re barely alive

Triumphant trumpet fanfares aloud

Just open your ears and close your eyes.

Maidens sporting ethereal gowns

Knights in armor non-discreet

Dressed for battle, many pounds

A battle ax, now they’re complete.

The stories are long and vivid too

Written over hundreds of years

Knowing them all are a privileged few

Most have gone on to eternity I fear.

Giants, goblins, elves, and dwarfs

Have their part in the stories as well

Mystical creatures of every sort

Some heavenly, while others from hell.

Amulets, necklaces, and rings

There value one cannot comprehend

Golden bobbles and other things

All these treasures make your mind bend.

Pay a tribute to the oracles for truth

Only in the currency of gold

Lacking this wisdom denies you, soothe

Or any other answer they could tell.

Find a place comfortable and soft

Enjoying all tales and their spin

In a warm bedroom or a cozy loft

Open the pages, and let’s begin…

Clutching you when you least expect

Coldness like a Zombie’s hand

Little to do or even protect

Fear waves its toxic wand.

Heart is racing beating faster

You take deep breaths to try and cope

Your body turns to rigid, skin alabaster

As you grasp at slipping notions of hope.

It’s taken you now you’re frozen in place

Triggered and frayed like a live wire

A icy gaunt look on your face

You suffer deep in anxiety’s ire.

Its Crippling debilitating

And takes a big toll on

Endlessly contemplating

Until happiness is gone.

Many a victim doth it take

Chaining them to over thought

Trying to avoid a break

From a disaster that may be wrought.

Stand in strength and hold on fast

Strength inside far more than you know

This internal nagging will not last

Take this opportunity to grow.

Take control you got this now.

Your mind drifts back to normalcy

Taking command of your fears, wow

It’s the strongest you can be…

Hey There, Watson

Hey there, Watson what did you do?

Where has life landed you, friend?

Tell me tales of what you’ve lived through.

And how on earth they all will end?

I traveled deep into the darkness.

And I found light on the way out.

Most of my lessons far from harmless.

But that’s what my journey was all about.

Countless persons, experiences and such.

Formed the lessons I referenced before.

Love and strength were my only crutch.

Venturing past each slamming door.

What can I tell you my dearest friend?

Of what this world has given me.

Realities harshness doesn’t end.

Or a sweet reward of liberty.

Loving hard is not enough.

For person’s not worthy of a love.

No peace or beauty can be rough.

When all they do is push and shove.

Changes happened at this point.

An adoration for me I did find.

My gifts and talents I anoint.

As strength and power fill my mind.

The answers all kept coming.

To the questions remaining in my life.

With all my passions continuously summing.

I found the courage to leave my wife.

Toxic narcissism was her art.

From the beginning of our life.

Only when we were apart.

Did I realize I never had a loving wife.

Moving to a far away land.

I began the changes that never end.

Feeling empowered and really grand.

Starting affirmations I became a best friend.

A new career, no longer a phony.

I started writing for a living.

Helping me pay my alimony.

And providing me was sorely missing.

Purpose, usefulness, and daily challenge.

Or a steady part of my career.

This is how I get my revenge.

Building a future not muddled, but clear.

Final words my friend for you.

We can drop a needless fuss.

The brightest future now in view.

Succeeding example for the rest of us…

A spec a dot a piece of the universe.

Falling faster and faster and faster.

Don’t look back just keep going.

We’re all falling together in concert.

No reason no purpose just gravity.

Don’t be afraid it’s a great expanse of emptiness.

But you’re not alone you’e in good company.

Close your eyes feel the speed rush by.

Trust in yourself let your instincts take over.

You are significant don’t even question it!
