Brushfire’s Hellfire

Flames lick and engulf all around them.

Consuming all, as every object is, fuel.

Lifetimes of riches saved, stored, and destroyed in an instant.

Huge write, black gray tendrils rise in every direction from the commotion.

Smoke choked ash falls, as a rainfall of death.

All covered, ghostly-white grays and blacks.

Smells of smoke dirt and all the melted.

Lungs hurt and strain, with stinging and coughing.

Eyes burn and tear up in a foggy haze of the charred aftermath.

Many of the bravest humans, rush toward and into the flames to save all they can.

Brief victories aren’t celebrated huge losses mount up.

How long will this hell last when will the fire’s hearty appetite be satisfied???

One house more? One more teddy bear erased?

Many people suffer the grief of egregious loss and its endless misery.

The evil of hopelessness tries to set in.

Waiting among all evacuated, pondering and praying over losing everything.

The hopeful wish, with their might, for a pouring rain to douse all of the hellfire…

Revelation of Doom

Oh great oracle of our day

What news can you share

What factors are at play

Or do you even care.

🌊

Tell us a tale

Give us some hope

What’s to our avail

How will we cope?

🌊

Will we survive

Will we be free

All of us alive

That’s yet to be seen.

🌊

Just tell us a lie

Because the truth hurts too much

Many will cry

So grant us that crutch.

🌊

You can see all

While others see none

Please hear our call

Lest in panic we run.

🌊

The world is at crossroad

You must be our guide

We stand at your humble abode

On bended knee and swallowed pride.

🌊

The answers have come

And they’re not what we’d like

None of us are dumb

We see the crumbling dike

🌊

The flood will engulf us

There’s no turning back

The world missed the bus

And the trains are off the track…
