Today’s question is a doozy for me. I’m all about voting and everybody should participate in our democracy however, there is a reason why I don’t register to vote.
This is gonna sound crazy, but every time I registered to vote, I get jury duty. I’ve had more jury duty than anybody else I’ve ever known. I received at least 20 summons, have been on two trials and was also on a panel.
I don’t know it’s because my last name begins with an “A”, or what but it’s ridiculous. Every trial I burn out my vacation time or I don’t get paid at all and it’s ridiculous. I know tons of people who’ve never ever received the summons in their life, let alone was a juror in a trial.
But it has to have something to do with the voter registration and so I haven’t registered since I moved back to Southern California.
I understand it’s our civic duty to serve, but I’ve done mine and many others over, and it’s time everybody does theirs. This is why I think it has to do with the voter registration. I moved to a new location in Southern California registered to vote and jury duty, again registered to vote and jury duty, moved again registered to and again vote jury duty. I moved to Texas registered to vote and jury duty., I moved back to California registered to vote and jury duty, moved to Arizona and registered jury duty again. It makes me wonder if there’s some conspiracy or something. 🤣🤣
Thereafter I’d happily register to vote and perform my jury duty that will come to me as soon as I do.
