Heaven is Earned

Heaven Gained a New Angel by Ieris-Azer

We’re all looking for heaven

Looking for answers inside

Count to ten or eleven

Only then abide.

Journeys are long wrought with pain

Long perilous rocky climbs

Sometimes feeling all in vain

We must walk our lines.

Sadness and beauty fill our lives

The contrast can’t be ignored

Journey filled with sharpened knives

Or even a sword.

The hardest lessons are learned

Walk against the stiffest breeze

All the while the world still turned

See flowers and trees.

For later on, we look back

Seeing how far we have come

Our accomplishments all stacked

And we know we’ve won…

Life And Death and Dreams

Life’s a fine line we all walk

Choose careful words when you talk

Many puzzles have been solved

Grow and evolve like corn stalks.

Death an end or beginning

Live each day, keep on grinning

Don’t waste a single moment, friend

In the end we’re all winning.

Sleep a chance for us to dream

Some dream awake it may seem

Don’t let hard times make you sink

Enjoy and drink up the cream.

One day it’ll be over

Called back like tired soldiers

Knowing this all, surely soothes

Time moves like endless boulders…

Where Is The Time?

So many hours to display

Observing the minutes splay

Watching the children play.

I see each day restart

From the very start

Experience is an art.

So don’t make a hasty retreat

You’ll likely miss a treat

Or other item might eat.

The best moments you’ll attract

As your years gain tract

And you’ll know how best to act.

There’s no need to pretend

Like my many efforts tend

This new poem is at an end…

What Would You Say?

What do you say to old you from an earlier day?

What do you say?

What do you say to memories that won’t stay away?

What do you say?

What do you say the way you used to play?what do you say?

What do you say how your exes stray?

What would you say?

What would you say if it was you and not they?

What would you say?

What would you say if you could forget that day?

What would you say?

What would you say for the answers you pray?

What would you say?

What would you say if you’d let old dogs lay?

What would you say?

What would you say as your hair grows gray?

What would you say?

What would you say if she decided to stay?

What would you say?

I know what I’d say I want peace today and leave the past so far away.

That’s what I’d say.

Silent Contemplations

What is forever?

I cannot say.

What is never?

Less by one day?

How far away is far?

Time can only tell.

Can you get there by car,

or taxi as well?

How much is too much?

What would be the weight?

Is a lot a bunch?

Tell me don’t hesitate.

Does love conquer all?

The great poets say so.

We all rise and fall.

As life takes its toll.

When is enough enough?

Is it less than a lot?

I’m shooting here from the cuff.

Show me what you got.

How deep is space?

Astronomers don’t know

Does black matter displace?

Quantum theory think so.

How difficult is hard?

Can I quantitate?

In this query’s regard,

I must hesitate.

When will this poem end?

I think it’ll end now

Thank you for reading my friend

Now go in peace, and how…

Ethos Pathos and Logos

I am good

My words will prove it

Just read them.

Life is hard

We’ve all been through much

Making us stronger.

With each lesson

Bettering our lives and ourselves

Means living happy.

A rhetorical triangle

Really drives my point home

Love, learn, live…

Mastering Life

When will it be enough

Why must we be so tough.

Life can be cruel and so unfair

But it’s worth, beyond compare.

When we reach, “enough”, we know life’s worth

That’s a big part of our time here on earth.

The setbacks are the worst

Likened to unsatisfied thirst.

Lessons must be learned

Yet the earth must turn.

Life without strife

Just wouldn’t be life.

So when things don’t go your way

Take pause, meditate, and pray.

Things can be so much worse

Life’s hardships are not a curse.

Teaching us what we need to know

In order to become better and grow.

Master the lessons and pass the test

And make this lifetime your very best…

All Work and No Play…

People work themselves to death

Never ending daily grind

Tasking each and everything

Lest falling far behind in a major bind.

Starts at fifteen or sixteen

In their youth, little regard

Seeking out the greatest time

Not quite the effort for working very hard.

Time flies and the years rush by

Laziness will not abide

Learn the value of money

Then accomplishments, the wealth of healthy pride.

Scales now tipped another way

Work becomes out everything

As we mature we work hard

Security and prosperity, now king.

Those two extremes in our lives

Balance needed that’s the truth

Work and play must coexist

As my life and lessons, are the living proof…

Beauty

   The heart of beauty

Pearces all the ugliness

   Bright beacon of light

Drives away all the darkness

In a very cold cruel world…

Seasons

Season of rain

Ushers in pain.

Seasons of sun

Bring about fun.

Seasons of cold

Blankets are sold.

Season of fire

Fulfilling desire.

Season of heat

Radiated street.

Season of breeze

Swiftly moving trees.

Seasons of spring

Bluebirds sing.

Season of fear

Will life endear?

Season of summer

Never a bummer.

Seasons of love

Peace of doves.

Season of salt

Dinner’s gestalt.

Season of fall

Halloween and all.

Season of pepper

Sneezing forever.

Season of hate

Political debate.

Season of winter

Frost, crack, splinter.

Seasons renewed

No year, subdued.

Seasons do end

Let’s not pretend…

Butterfly

Butterfly

Don’t flutter by.

Butterfly

Stay nearby.

Butterfly

Hear my sigh.

Butterfly

Now in the Sky.

Butterfly

See me cry.

Butterfly

With misty eyes

I say, goodbye…
