Past is a closed square 

Whether ex husband or wife

No need to go there.

Feel the peace of the present

Enjoy all that’s now

Looking back causes resent

Make today your vow.

Go outside, start a nice walk

Stretch your arms and legs

Stop negative talk

Its depression begs.

Notice the flowers and trees

Beauty everywhere

Feel a warm spring breeze 

Nothing else compares.

Remember you are alive 

As air fills your lungs

With nothing contrived

Sweetest songs are sung.

So take pause, don’t overthink

Feel your happiness 

Life passes, don’t overthink

Full certain life won’t pass you by.

I was a drum

So they beat me

I was left numb 

They besieged me.

No cymbals or set

One single drum

Filled with regret

For loving some.

The beat moves on

Just like our lives 

The past is gone

Like some ex wives.

I hold the sticks

Once handed out

No more cheap kicks

Boundaries about.

A drumming snare

With sticks of oak

Much more aware

Of all that’s spoke.

My head is tuned

The snares are right

Sadness consumed

Future looks bright…

we have all been baptized in fire of adversity.

How we come out the other side is all that matters.

No need to dwell on the terrible things that happened, those just tested our mettle.

Try to remember that, when you’re overthinking like I do.

Find a peaceful way to integrate your past as a part of your life and series of lessons.

Some light and simple others quite cathartic.

Be present, be now, enjoy what’s in front of you.

Nothing but the truth

Lessons leave a scar.

I know it’s uncouth

But life is quite hard

You want some proof?

Well in this regard 

Look in the mirror

And look real hard.

Only then you’ll care

And make concessions

For life it will scare.

When applying its lessons

Many with some pain

Save your confessions.

–

For the criminally insane

You know yourself

Just use your brain.

–

For knowledge is wealth

The memories are here

No need for stealth.

–

Get your life in gear

Get off of your phone

Stop shedding your tears

–

Sabbatical out of your comfort zone

Challenge your every skill

Remember that you and you alone.

–

Can swallow the ‘red pill’

End all your strife

Using your sheer will.

–

Finally get a life

While you can

Find a new wife.

–

Lend a helping hand 

Share your mistakes

At will, your command.

–

Show that even when life breaks

And things go off unplanned

Doing all that it takes 

Only then, you’ll understand…

The days roll by 

One after the other

Take pause and sigh.

Uncertainty like no other

Haunts us inside 

Like a firmer friend or lover.

Give up your pride

Eat some humble pie

And go for a ride.

Each nanosecond rolls by

An eternity in each 

Wishing and be could fly.

–

Placing hardships out of reach

Landing upon happier times

One some warm sandy beach.

–

We never stop paying for past crimes

Punishing ourselves for those mistakes

Get what we deserve on karmic lines.

–

So take all those breaks 

Parlay them into happiness 

And avoid all the flakes.

Finally you can impress 

Upon yourself

Navigating my life, post divorce

I don’t know where I go next

But I know it’s going to be fun

My past days of being hexed

Are all finished and truly done

–

Endless adventures await my life

I’m enjoying the unknown of each day

Over are all my days of strife

And now it’s time to enjoy and play

–

Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed

So each our lives, we must not waste

For the hazards of our pasts we all must heed

To thrive inside our happy place

–

Endless days and laughing times

I look forward to enjoy

Sharing experiences with friends of mine

With hard learned lessons, I employ

–

Who knows next which way I go

Not even I can answer

That’s what life can be about

Loved very hard but you lost

Pondering if was worth cost

The Love you gave, and all its good

Didn’t turn out the way it should

Sleepless nights and endless tears

Trying to allay your deepest fears

Wondering what tomorrow brings

The iciest winter or warmest of springs

Look deep inside for signs of hope

On how to deal or how to cope

Then there it is a small sign at first

A hint of confidence then a burst

Remember who you used to be

Before your lesson’s history

Finding glimmers of light inside your soul

That flourished before you lost your goal

Buried away at every measure

About to recover the greatest treasure

–

Creative weirdness, music, and art

All your essence from the very start

–

Concerts friends and moments of peace

Bring what was chaos back to ease

–

Now you’re fully you my friend

And all your pain will come to an end

–

Always hit the gym and hit it hard

Venture outside your own backyard

–

Embrace change from all directions

And enjoy new found introspections

–

Don’t stress twisted time and endless sands

Your life is where it belongs, in your own hands

Self can only be achieved by acceptance

Acceptance can only be achieved through peace

Peace can only achieved through love

Love can only be achieved through trust

Trust can only be achieved through honesty

Honesty can only be achieved through bravery

Bravery can only be achieved through knowing

Knowing can only be achieved through knowledge

Knowledge can not not be achieved through mistakes

Mistakes can only be achieved through learning

Learning can only be achieved through bettering

Bettering can only be through improvement

Improvement never ends until we do and even then it continues on…
