Everything falls around you

Here we go again
Another earthquake
Will the shaking end
If not, a lot will break.
–
What does the future boast
Will the quakes get worst
Will inland become the coast?
All these fault lines were cursed.
–
Be it Malibu, Bakersfield, or Highland Park
Ontario, Corona, all over the state
I dislike earthquakes, especially in the dark
Everything will get broken at this rate.
–
We call ourselves “earthquake country”
Because of the regularity here in California
On our toes, we always have to be
Price to pay for such beauty and euphoria.
–
Ever since I was a kid
We get these things occasionally
Everything in the house would slide and skid
Momentary instability.
–
With everything moving everywhere
I really don’t enjoy them, honestly
It really can put on a scare
With such massive entropy…

Heavy shaking, items fall
Another SoCal earthquake
Somewhat normal for us all.
–
Many things can drop and break
Total chaos all around
Nerves are frazzled, alive, and ache.
–
Kneel and cover near the ground
Hang in there and just hold on
Amidst a low rumbling sound.
–
Occurring anytime of day or dawn
Centered all over the place
Hopefully it ends before all is gone.
–
Nerves are written all over my face
As all the shaking stirs
Safe by God’s grace.
–
The shaking stopped, and the news concurs
Now I just hope
That more shaking doesn’t occur…
