Time Flies

Ponder, where has time gone away to

as our days grow ever shorter.

Use all your time sparingly

before it is all gone.

Suddenly, alone

within yourself

you will see

flight.

Take Your Time

Take your time

Do not rush

Moments fine

If you push.

All in stride

Doesn’t hurt

Deep inside

Is our worth.

Manage you

In your lane

Less miscues

And less pain

Change is good

As we grow

We’re understood

All will know.

Reaching goals

All laid out

Paying tolls

So devout.

Smile not sad

Trying best

Isn’t bad

Take a rest.

Then look back

At all done

You’re on track

Life is fun…

Where Is The Time?

So many hours to display

Observing the minutes splay

Watching the children play.

I see each day restart

From the very start

Experience is an art.

So don’t make a hasty retreat

You’ll likely miss a treat

Or other item might eat.

The best moments you’ll attract

As your years gain tract

And you’ll know how best to act.

There’s no need to pretend

Like my many efforts tend

This new poem is at an end…

The Old Man and the Mirror

Look in the mirror what do I see?

Gray old man looking back at me.

Where did all the years go

So fast the time does flow.

My beard is full and such curly hair

Has thoroughly caught me unawares.

Life is strange as it moves by fast

Wondering how long this life will last.

Oh my mirror must you be cruel

Showing me I was such a fool.

My lifetime hasn’t all been a blast

Cold harsh realities in distant past.

Take some stock it wasn’t all a waste

Parts of our lives have a bitter taste.

The hardest lessons have been learned

To assure a far better life in return.

A drip in the sink drops with kerplunk

I set down my razor and bathroom junk.

Now I’m shaven and my teeth are clean

I’m far better than I have ever been.

The time for reflection is at an end

Let’s resume your living my friend.

Take the time and lessons, discard strife

And resume living your very best life…

Time Catches Us All

Tereza ran down the street

Clutching a bag in her hands

Without any shoes on her feet.

Her plight is her own, no one understands

She’s carrying a lot more than her bag

Weighed down by time, like hour glass sands.

As she’d run her head would sag

Lowered by many a burden

She can’t slow down or even lag.

It will catch her, that is for certain

As time catches us all

Right up to the final curtain…
