My First Words

The first words

My very first lune of

the new year.

I contemplate deeply

Before writing down initial words

Stream of consciousness.

Slow at first

Like any poem I write

I speed up.

Next I know

Something is working here now

Just keep going.

Before too long

A lune series is born

First of 2025…

Words That Touch The Soul

Find the words

That will touch the world

Making it better.

Search your feelings

And write them all down

You’ll touch others.

Edit then refine

Your work until it’s perfect

Then unleash it.

Others will relate

Trust in that every time

You create something…

The Writer’s Mind

My

Mind

Is filled

With deep thoughts

Craftily delving

Into bright words that all just fit

Far

From

normal

Different

My mold was broken

Revel in nonconformity.

So

If

You see

Me walk by

You needn’t worry

I’m just buried in my writing…

A Quadrille More

Quadrilles are tricky to write

No matter if it is day or night.

Words fit neatly together all in place

Keep the numbers or fall on your face.

Two to four stanzas will get you there

All the writer needs to know is where.

Sunday

Sunday, still in bed

Ideas, are in my head

My writing is fed.

Four poems are down

Write four more without a frown

Then, toast of the town.

Four day weekends burst

Making Monday such the worst

It’s December First.

I will close this out

Without a scream or a shout

To my style, devout…

Writing Magic Nines

Writing a poem that’s Magic Nine

Does not take a sleight of hand

One might think the skill divine

Another tool in your poetic work shed

It’s not like walking a fine line

Quite liberating, a fun exercise

This poetic form is mighty fine

The finished product will be quite grand

If done well enough the readers will be kind.

My Last Poem, Or Is It?

My last poem

For this warm October Friday

My day complete.

Just until Saturday

Then I’ll write some more

So don’t worry.

I’ll be back

With many more creative ideas

On Sunday too.

On that note

Have a wonderful weekend everyone

Live it up.

Saturday’s All Write

Saturday morning

And it’s time to hustle

Without warning

Must use my creative muscle.

Placing some prose

From mind to phone

Plenty of those

Quiet, here, alone.

Coining a phrase

Or three or four

Whatever the case

I must write more.

My Friday views

Are often low

Why all readers less choose

I guess I’ll never know

All the while

I’ll get it straight

Write and file

Until I’ve done eight.

Micro poems

A haiku or two

A Clogyrnach gem

Or Dizain in view.

Then I can relax

Free of sorrow

Have a few snacks

Or write for tomorrow…

Writing in the Darkness

Laying in bed, it’s dark and day

The blackout curtains gently sway.

Writing many works to blog one day soon

It’s dark and quite cool in my hotel room.

Beside me she sleeps and gently snores

As poetry floods my mind more and more.

I can’t type fast enough my fat finger foes

Clunking on my iPhone as I write my prose.

Saturday morning, nearly afternoon

Vacation nearly over, homeward bound soon.

Gentle sighs as she happily dreams

Of times that are as blissful, like now as it seems.

Temperature, the story of old

Pulling up the covers as I get cold.

Nearly finished now, nine poems in two hours

They’re flowing sweetly like fresh cut flowers.

Feeling I know myself much more

Gazing at beauty, as she softly snores.

I won’t wake her as I write

Letting her rest on this day of night…

Genesis of Creativity

Rhyme me a word

Neat, not absurd

Ones, never heard

Glorious work.

Using a form

Maybe not norm

Never conform

I never shirk.

Make something new

Much fun to do

Writing from truth

Ideas work.

Create magic

It’s not tragic

Style not static

It is my quirk.

All good tings end

Like this, my friend

My will can’t bend

As new thoughts lurk…

A New Way to Best Writer’s Block

Laying silently on my bed

No ideas, are in my head

Closed eyes, now rest a bit

You’ll find something after your sleep

Just relax, and your mind will keep

Everything it sees fit.

Do not rush to awaken yet

Dreamt ideas are best to get

Once your dream ends, you rise

Now work, those new ideas, hard

Write with intention and regard

Shaped, right before your eyes…

Feelings, The Poet’s Muse

Art: Poet And Muse – By Valentine Tusai

Love and heartbreak are my muse

In my writings and my truths.

To feel those extremes and feel them hard

And put them in words with careful regard.

To share the purest and darkest of feelings

With life’s happiest and saddest dealings.

Is a privilege and not a curse

Processing emotions and not feeling worse.

Finding common ground with all around

Relating your words in your blog abound.

I keep writing, day and night

Trying to get the rhythms, right.

And when I want to break my norm

I try out new poetic forms.

I like the technical aspects that apply

Just fitting in words and figuring out why.

In the end when it’s time to share,

I make my edits and choose with care.

Lest my poetry goes off the rail

Which would be an epic fail…

WordPress Wisdom

WordPress wisdom I must find

Patience of another kind.

Glitches, clicks, and occasional crashes

Slowness and my smart phone flashes.

Adding subscriptions is the rule

And growing your subscribers too.

Scheduling drafts for publication release

Writing and pictures and adding with ease.

At least I don’t get “no internet connection” now

They have remediated that bug, wow!

Jetpack too, is what I use

Sure bets web browser abuse.

In the end, WordPress beats writing a letter

With each rendition getting better and better…

Poetry, My War

Every poem is a battle

Fiercely fought over:

Words, technique, and style

I wish it came easier.

But I have to claw and fight

For every word or phrase I write

Maybe I’m meant for other things

Like cooking fries and onion rings.

Writing shouldn’t be a war

It should be a lot of fun

Not second-guessing to, abhor

It shouldn’t be fought, it should be won…
