Caresses

“Touch me very softly”, she said

So I caressed her precious head

–

Running my fingers through hair

I can hear her gently sigh

Her feelings safe with none to fear

She closes both of her eyes

–

She drifts and floats to welcomed sleep

I hold her and her breathing is deep

–

She has a dream of a crystal clear lake

And the waters ebb in gentle waves

I have my dream, but I am awake

Receiving the love that my heart craves

–

She awakens well rested after a while

And I continue to hold her with a smile…
