The Pressures of the Writer

If My works, do not emote emotion in detail

Then I consider each an epic fail.

If readers don’t think when they read my words

Then they’re all just: gibberish, trite, obtuse absurd.

If what I write all sounds the same

Then it’s solely the author to blame.

So as I write my newest work

I feel my creativity tense, and jerk.

Because I do not want to come across a phony

Or just another one trick pony.

I try new styles, tempos, and beats

Iambic pentameters and challenging feats.

To wow the readers as I heal

Sharing the words that make them feel.

That is why I write, my friend

Alas, this poem is at an end…

    • Thank you for saying that that’s so kind. I am an empath so I have a lot of feelings inside and I pick up on other peoples feelings and so it all allows me to really touch on that in my writing at least I try to. Hopefully someday I’ll be able to do so perfectly. I’ll keep trying. 😊
