The Deepest Darkest Infinity And Light

We are all drifting

At one hundred thousand miles

An hour in space

Deep dark space with many stars

Far far too many to count.

But trust me they’re there

A billion pin pricks alight

Warming up the cold

expanse in all directions

Is there really life out there???

No Words Just Actions

Suddenly she’s upon me.

I can hear her softly breathing.

Fast and steady her breath is her want

And I will satisfy each and more.

It’s dark but I can make the outlines

of her face and body as she straddles me.

She kisses me with the passion of a starving person receiving a hearty meal.

I return her kisses in kind and kiss her neck.

Flames of mutual desire ignite and rage on all night…

QOTD: #204 Favorite Artists

Who are your favorite artists?

I’ll have to break them down by categories. I’m not gonna go into a great deal in detail at this point in the interest of saving you all some time and having to read all my junk (lol).

MUSIC:

The Beatles are my favorite band. always have been always will be.

ART:

Pablo Picasso is my favorite artist. Ever since I studied with him in art history and learned how to view his paintings and art I love his work.

AUTHOR:

Stephen King is my favorite author. been reading his book since I was 11 years old and I love them.

POET:

It’s a three-way tie for favorite poet, being Robert Frost, Shel Silverstein, and Walt Whitman. These three are giants in the poetry world for me.

ACTOR:

It’ll probably have to be a tie between Tom Hanks, and Robert De Niro.

ACTRESS:

It’ll be a tie between Julianne Moore and Rachel McAdams.

There are probably other artistic categories, but I’m going to keep things simple tonight.

As always, thank you for reading…

QOTD: #203 Favorite Hobbies

What is your favorite hobby or pastime?

I’m reforming this question to what are my favorite hobbies or past times because there are quite a lot of them.

I’m self taught on piano, so I can somehow read the music and I play by ear and do my own arranging. That’s a lot of fun.

I write a lot, I write poetry, short stories, essays quotes, music analysis, and share them in my blog.

I love to play the drums and eventually I will have a digital set in my apartment, but I have to save up right now.

I love, listening to lots and lots of music and have it playing all the time.

I go once a month with a good friend to do those painting events where there’s a person they’re showing everybody how to do the same painting. It’s way out of my comfort zone, but it’s very good for me to become more balanced creatively.

I also love live music and concerts. I haven’t been to one in a year plus but I intend to get back out there.

When I’m in a little bit better shape I love playing tennis, walking, hiking, and working out.

I love swimming and going to the beach body boarding.

I love to read and have read many many books.

I love to stream all kinds of great entertainment all the time.

And of course I love video games. I guess I’ll always be a big kid inside.

As always, thank you for reading…

Women Are Superior

Women are superior

To all of us men

We simply are inferior.

From fawn to mother hen

Women are smarter

Rare exception now and then.

Their chromosomes for starters

They have two X’s

Genetically they’re just hardier.

That’s why they’re the fairer sexes

They’ll outlive us all

For some men, it vexes.

But I don’t mind at all

Without them there’d be no birth

Men having babies, humanity would fall.

An unpopulated earth

We can’t bear the pain

Or appreciate the worth.

Women are stronger in that vain

They can handle a lot

What drives men insane.

The instincts they’ve got

To care and love

For their children they’ve fought.

They’re blessings from above

Some say they came from a rib

Patience and peace like a dove.

They often change you in your crib

They wash you and sing you songs

When eating they change your bib.

In childhood righting all your wrongs

Giving lessons and advice

In caring arms where we belong.

Their gentle souls are quite nice

Patience, virtue, complexity, smarts

I’ve seen exception, three times or twice.

But generally they have amazing hearts

Capacity to feel all feelings there are

And the wisdom each imparts.

Walking, and talking, or in your car

Passionate and unafraid

Even with emotional scars.

Their will obeyed

It’s the least we can do

They are not maids.

Or a cleaning crew

They accomplish much more

Than us men can do.

So know the score

I place them on a pedestal

Now and forever more…

QOTD: #202: Imagine No Possessions, I Wonder If You Can

What would you do if you lost all your possessions?

This has happened to me many times. I go on. I move forward. I start over.

I’ve been through two divorces, lost two of my storage units, and I’ve had to start my life a new three times now.

I find that we got a lot in ourselves and our friends and possessions just way down. John Lennon had it right “Imagine no possessions, I wonder if you can, no need for greed or hunger, a brotherhood of man”

Possessions are just things they come they go. It’s people that stay and that are important, friends, family, colleagues, mentors.

As always, thank you for reading…

Nero’s Lesson

Art, Untitled (Blue) by Pinchas Maryan

Leaders that hate

Leaders like Nero

There’s no debate

They’re absolute zero.

Compassion lacking

Hatred up front

Cruelty gobsmacking

Insanely blunt.

War is hell

A hell they love

Their people aren’t well

Poverty they shove.

Propaganda and lies

Political machines

Mother and babe cries

And all in between.

Murder or revolution

Will make them retire

A simple conclusion

Like Nero and the Roman Empire.

Ché, Pott, Castro, Perón

Lenin, Stalin, Pinochet, and Hitler

Men content to be alone

No exceptions, a stickler.

 –

Death before compromise

Led to bitter ends

Only now can we surmise

What tyranny portends.

Societies fall, it’s no riddle

As the world turns

Nero and his proverbial fiddle

Playing as his Rome burns…

The Hard Honest Truth

Facts as they are

Nothing but the truth

Lessons leave a scar.

I know it’s uncouth

But life is quite hard

You want some proof?

Well in this regard

Look in the mirror

And look real hard.

Only then you’ll care

And make concessions

For life it will scare.

When applying its lessons

Many with some pain

Save your confessions.

For the criminally insane

You know yourself

Just use your brain.

For knowledge is wealth

The memories are here

No need for stealth.

Get your life in gear

Get off of your phone

Stop shedding your tears

Sabbatical out of your comfort zone

Challenge your every skill

Remember that you and you alone.

Can swallow the ‘red pill’

End all your strife

Using your sheer will.

Finally get a life

While you can

Find a new wife.

Lend a helping hand

Share your mistakes

At will, your command.

Show that even when life breaks

And things go off unplanned

Doing all that it takes

Only then, you’ll understand…

Saturday’s All Write

Saturday morning

And it’s time to hustle

Without warning

Must use my creative muscle.

Placing some prose

From mind to phone

Plenty of those

Quiet, here, alone.

Coining a phrase

Or three or four

Whatever the case

I must write more.

My Friday views

Are often low

Why all readers less choose

I guess I’ll never know

All the while

I’ll get it straight

Write and file

Until I’ve done eight.

Micro poems

A haiku or two

A Clogyrnach gem

Or Dizain in view.

Then I can relax

Free of sorrow

Have a few snacks

Or write for tomorrow…

QOTD: #201

What’s a topic or issue about which you’ve changed your mind?

I have to say anybody who is matured, been educated, and developed in opinion on anything would change their mind on many issues.

I feel this question is very redundant because it applies to everything. When we grow, and we become educated, we change and become better people.

This applies to everything there is. Just my $.10.

NICE GUYS FINISHED LAST UNTIL…

What am I good for?

That’s a great question

I’ve been asked before

With a little concession.

Why am I so sensitive?

My ex-wife of asked

As if it was preventative

“Be a man” I was tasked.

But what if I was every bit a man?

As a less sensitive contemporary

That’d violate all your plans

As you made me feel less exemplary.

What if I knew all they did?

In passion and love as well

But you never accepted my bid

Preferring to treat me like hell.

Do nice guys finish last?

The truth is we pretty much do

Until the world wakes up fast

Excepting our point of view.

Are we to be counted out?

Absolutely not

As our loyalty is devout

Only then not an afterthought…

Street Lights, Yesterday and Today

When street lights turn on we take a double

Remembering in childhood of the trouble

We could never ever be late

As our parents would wait

As we turned the nob on the front door

It’d be a welcome or punishment for sure

I had my first watch at that time

Always checking, to prevent this crime

Many calendars later I’m far older

As the street lights up I bravely soldier

Out for a night on the town or a drink

Walking the boulevards, pause and think

Growing was easier but curfews did stink…

QOTD #200

What’s a topic or issue about which you’ve changed your mind?

To answer today’s question of the day, I’ve decided to flex my creativity. I hope you enjoy.

TIME MARCHES ON 🕰️

Fifty years was old, until you reached it

Honestly, novel, unless you preached it.

Expensive just a word until you’ve spent it

Money quite abundant, until you’ve lent it.

Time everlasting until it’s all gone

Criticism lambasting but you carry on.

Twenty, quite young but no so long ago

It was a milestone age for us you know.

New music trends and all our ovations

Now audible on Classic Rock stations.

Naps were sacrilege at our youngest age

Now at age fifty-two, they’re quite the rage.

Nostalgia floods us with TV shows passed

Now streaming on services, mind surpassed.

Fast food we ate up at eighteen in a flash

Now more like reconstituted tasteless trash.

Movies that were amazing in our youth

Seem lame, older in our own the truth.

Our politics change like underwear

We became informed and started to care.

World events touch us like never before

Educated, experienced, we know the score.

In youth, growing old seems such a change

In reality, considerably more is rearranged…

QOTD: #199

Tell us about a time when you felt out of place.

I’d honestly, have to say pretty much since consciousness.

Being an empath and a male is very difficult and challenging. You’re different than most men in the world and you feel it and you’re different than most people in general.

You feel what they feel and they get freaked out by it and they push you away. What’s worse is at the time there was no term for what this was and I just thought I was going nuts.

I’ve always wanted to fit in and be like everybody else, but I realized that it will never happen. So instead, I’ll happily be myself and those that want to be in my orbit will be nearby and the rest can be by the wayside.

I’m happy being me even if I am weird, different, odd, eccentric, gauche, etc. It’s taking me 52+ years to get to this point and I am not ever going backwards.

Ergo, being/feeling out of place is OK because some of us I’ve always been there. As always, thank you for reading…

Instant Karma! It is real

Instant Karma! Is a track off the Plastic Ono Band, a very catchy John Lennon song. Plastic on a band was sort of a super group of Lennon’s at formed in 1969 through 1970. He’s really talking about something here.

“Instant Karma’s gonna get you, gonna

knock you on the head. You better get

yourself together, darling. Are you soon

       gonna be dead.”

This is so true karma is real and it does get ya. I always try to be positive and lead positive impacts on others. I think if you don’t, it comes back to you tenfold I’ve seen it happen. Do by others it’s just a natural thing and it feels right and then you know karma’s on your side. In the 90s I recall Nike did a really interesting ab campaign with this song and like the words popping at in 3-D was very powerful and I think it worked well.

Anyhow, enjoy this tune it’s very good, and you’ll find very interesting who was on hand to record this song in the studio:

John Lennon: lead vocal, acoustic guitar, backing vocals, piano

George Harrison: electric guitar, piano, backing vocals,

Klaus Voormann: bass guitar, electric piano, backing vocals

Alan White: drums, piano, backing vocals

Billy Preston: Hammond organ, backing vocals

Yoko Ono: backing vocals

Mal Evan’s: chimes, hand claps, backing vocals

As always thank you for reading and listening 🎵🎶🎼😊

NOTHING

Nothing is what you gave

Nothing is what you are

Nothing for us to save

Nothing even now, afar.

Nothing is what you’ll do

Nothing is what you stand for

Nothing left for me to do

Nothing but closing that door.

Nothing is what you had in your heart

Nothingness you steered me to

Nothing from the very start

Nothing but relief, now that we’re through…

What Else Do You Need?

What else do you need

Glaciers retreat every year

Ocean temps are up.

What else do you need

Droughts all seem to last longer

Famine runs rampant.

What else do you need

Rain seems to fall much harder

Than it did before.

What else do you need

Once in a century floods

Occur more often.

What else do you need

Stagnant air is hard to breathe

Making many sick.

What else do you need

Massive brushfires scorch the earth

Death and destruction.

What else do you need

Hottest years on average

In these last few years.

What else do you need

Whether our fault or the sun’s

It doesn’t matter.

What else do you need

I’m just not sure at this point

I think too late…
