I fade away 

No one’s reading

Less views per day.

I’m just not sure

What can I do

To ebb the flow

Or am I through.

Once my blog bloomed

Thousands of views

Now low hundreds

What can I do.

–

Working so hard

Readers engaged

Nothing to do 

Seeming so strange.

–

Should I give up 

What if I quit

Stopped my writings

Somewhat legit.

–

Feeling so down

Trying my best

Doesn’t matter

I need to rest.

–

Some jealous folks

Went to WordPress

Unfounded lies 

Were their success 

–

Blogging future 

In front of me

Fading into

Obscurity…

  5. I won’t like this one because I don’t believe it for a moment. Any of it. I usual read everything you write. I like most. Some I just don’t have the time. Heck, I’m only just finding the time to write again. I’ve keep getting “no views”, “no comments”, “no likes”, – every day! I politely and lovingly say to you – pull your head in and stop feeling so morbid. Just keep writing. OK? 🙂

  6. I know you won’t stop writing, but please don’t stop blogging. Clearly there’s some odd stuff going on with WordPress that has affected your numbers. But it’s clear from comments to your posts that you have devoted readers who find beauty and meaning in your work. I feel fortunate to be among them. You sound depressed in this post; please hang in there and no that we are here for you.

    • Sorry, it’s just my blogging has been going down work been really hard and to be honest my girlfriend who lives in Texas was nearly killed on Wednesday in a car accident so it’s been a little bit of a hard few days for me. Thank you for being my friend and supporting me and my writing. I won’t give up I promise.

  7. What makes you feel good about your own writing is the key. IMHO, if it resonates with you via a choice of levels then you have successfully communicated. After all, that’s what writing is, an utterance, an offering of understanding. I think in the age of social media, that has become skewed. When I first started writing, I wrote inside a spiral notebook via pencil, then to an electric typewriter. Very few ever saw what I wrote, except those that were “published”. (Under another pseudonym) Take care, and I agree with Laura, “keep going”.

    • No, I agree. Thank you for saying so. I just want an audience. I could write in 1000 poems a day and never release them and have some reading right now. That’s what’s frustrating me I just want an audience to read my writing. That’s why I write. I don’t write for me. That’s been my frustration. I had no audience then I had a good size audience and now I have no audience again.

    • I’ll keep writing forever. I just would love to have an audience read it. That’s why I blog so I could have people read what I write and see how it affects them and get feedback and stuff.

    • Thank you for that. That’s good advice. I just wanna have an audience to read what I write. That’s the thing. I feel like I had one at one time here and it’s been taken away from me. And I don’t know why.

  12. Well, I’ve been blogging for two years and have about 500 subscribers and average around 100 views a day. My posts average around 20-30 likes. But if that’s what it is all about, it takes the fun out of it!❤️

    • No, you’re right. It’s just I want an audience to read what I write.

      At one point I had almost nobody when I started then I worked really hard to cultivate an audience and felt like I had a pretty solid audience reading what I write.

      Then WordPress comes along and chops off my hands and God knows what else they’re doing and now as far as I can see nobody’s reading what I’m writing hardly.

      So much about numbers it’s about having people read what I write that’s why I write.

      • I have noticed an ebb and flow with certain people who read my posts. I’m not sure if there is an algorithm since I get notifications for everything that’s posted. It seems like there are cycles regarding who is reading when. If that makes sense.

        I have a handful of friends who read pretty much everything I post. I try to stop by and read what people write, especially the people who do that. If you see me like a ton of stuff all at once, that’s me doing my due diligence to stop by and support. I’m sure as my kids get older I’ll have more time to do that.😆
