What personality trait in people raises a red flag with you?

From extensive experience with it, I would say that the following is a red flag:

When someone’s behavior contradicts what they say.

When what someone says, contradicts their behavior.

Manipulation and games and lies.

Bottom line narcissism. If I even sent a hint of it, I am gone. After having wasted 26 years with three narcissistic women, I learned the hard way.

Dry Air is Not Impossible

The air is so dry it practically snaps at you.

Mongolian Beef is quite delicious.

Voices carry, lakes fill.

Morning glories smell great at night.

Infinity is a very long time.

Her perfumed skin filled the air with 

electricity and I was lost in butterflies.

Skip but don’t trip.

What is the algebraic equation for love?

Swimming pools are more high maintenance than my ex wife.

Toilets flush and occasionally, poker cards.

Standing still during an earthquake is impossible, though I’ve tried…

There are many ways I relax and they include:

Writing prose and short stories (daily).

Listening to a lot of music (daily).

Think of all that I am grateful for.

Playing on my piano.

Meditation

Going for a long walks.

Spending great time with great friends.

Laying down and binge watching streaming shows from the past.

Relaxing in the Jacuzzi.

A nice hot bath.

If you had to give up one word that you use regularly, what would it be?

This is one of the easiest questions you’ve ever asked.

Words that I rarely use or say these days are “politics” or “political”.

Over these past 12 years plus there’s been so so much divide among people of differing political views more than I’ve ever seen in my lifetime or even read about.

It’s disgusting and Divisive in our society no matter if it’s America, Europe, Africa, South America, Canada, or any other part of the world.

It is true that the difference is between us all are what make things better and make us better. That’s why different political views are great or at least they used to be.

Now it appears that many believe they are working for their respective candidate, which is simply not true. An attack on Trump is not an attack on you or Biden or Harris or anyone.

We need to get over ourselves more sooner than later.

Again, none of us are working for the candidates, they work for us. We vote for them we elect them. We select them not the other way around.

Different perspectives and points of view, lead to solutions to problems it will never be met any other way. That’s the beauty of multiple political parties, reaching across the aisle and coming up with solutions, reaching across the multitudes town, city states nations, and finding the answers.

We don’t get back to that place we’re doing as a society and as a race known as humanity.

As I stated at the beginning, I don’t use the word, “political” or “politician” as much anymore as those words are now divisive rather than unifying.

Nearsighted Heart

My heart he needs four eyes instead of two

A bad case of myopia, is why I loved you.

Things you said and did, led me one way 

While the true intentions were astray.

All the while, did my best to cope 

Wishing for kindness, my ultimate hope.

Hopes are great unless unfulfilled 

And ultimately, my love was killed.

Even sporting glasses my heart closed off 

Further and further facing scoff.

In front of the kids, private conversations 

Subjected to endless emasculations.

I thought you were sweet and such a honey 

In the end all me you loved was my money.

Cold hearted ridicule

Everyday I was a fool.

The worst temper with a hair trigger

No matter what was said, her anger got bigger.

Musical Innovation

I Feel Fine by was recorded by The Beatles in the Abby Road studios of EMI in London in 1964 as an A-side single. A great single by my favorite band, and not without the fab four’s innovations.

Always pushing the envelope in the studio, they incorporated “feedback” into the beginning of the song. Creating an unexpected raw surge at the song’s start.

This is how it happened. Paul McCartney strummed an A string on his bass, and John Lennon’s rhythm guitar which was leaning against the amplifier picked up the feedback in a brilliant “Nnnnnnwahhhhh….” sound. 

This is one of the earliest intentional uses of feedback on a rock and roll record. Bands like The Who and The Kinks experimented with feedback in their music as well. 

Who would’ve thought a happy accident would lead to what many bands would use thereafter even today.  As I can’t fathom grunge, hard rock, or heavy metal without feedback. As those raw sounds round out and punctuate solid guitar riffs.

It is far better to embrace honesty

Walk Into Fall’s Splendor

Trees bend to the will off the air

Moving gently without a care.

Softly rustling and tussling not a tout 

A mere whisper as they move about.

Cool breeze through the trees has its say

Early suggestions of winter as it may.

Leaves suddenly turn, and fall to the ground

As they do, hardly making a single sound.

Yellows, tans, oranges and reds 

Flow like feathers above our heads.

No bugs around the forest deep 

Early entering a seasons long sleep.

–

A chimney smokes and fills the air 

A sweet-rich scent beyond compare.

–

The sky in fall is a different kind of blue

All who like up know that it’s true.

–

Not much time left, sunshine’s shorter 

Winter happens in less than a quarter.

–

Leaves cover the ground so much 

That every step results in crunch.

–

As it darkens, I tire, and venture home

For hot apple cider to warm my bones…
