Four Lunes: Seasons of Friendship, Love, and Heartbreak

A) Summer: Friendship Found

Summer reintroduced us

After a 25 year break

Becoming fast friends.

B) Fall We Meet, Passions Ignite

Fall we met

Things took off from there

Always looking forward.

C) Winter: Cold, Though We Kept Warm

Winter froze us

But we always kept warm

Sustaining each other.

D) Spring: Heartbreak Arrives

Spring consumed all

Ghosting without explanation you disappeared.

A huge disappointment…

QOTD #122: Making Food

What foods would you like to make?

I’m quite adept at creating Italian sauces or gravies to go with pasta.

I also make good pasta casseroles like: baked ziti, shells, or manicotti.

I improvise marinades and grill many kinds of meats if I have a barbecue nearby.

I also make pretty darn good breakfast too scrambled eggs with cheese and vegetables and jalapeños are always quite yummy.

As always, thank you for reading… 😊

Recipe for a Life Fulfilled

Mean what you say and say what you mean

There really isn’t any in-between.

Be your true self and maintain your wits

Lest you be among the hypocrites.

Share your truth and don’t hold back

Those that judge you, are full of lack.

Pay it forward with a selfless deed

Help out others that are in need.

Charitable acts will set you apart

Doing and saying from your heart.

Lead by example not exemption

This is leadership’s perfection.

Act from your conscience, then you’ll do best

When life puts you to the test.

You will pass with flying colours

If you always think of others.

At the end of the day, don’t be a creep

Then you won’t be missing sleep…

This is Your Train

Catch the train

Don’t miss it

Or you’re late

Implicit.

Get to work

Or places

Meeting friends

New faces.

Out for fun

On a date

Live it up

Try, temp fate.

Slowing down

We’ve arrived

The first stop

Not contrived.

Stay in place

It’s not yours

Not there yet

Hold your horse.

Second stop

Easy now

Next one’s yours

Holy cow!

Now your stop

Came to pass

Leave the train

Like your past…

A New Way to Best Writer’s Block

Laying silently on my bed

No ideas, are in my head

Closed eyes, now rest a bit

You’ll find something after your sleep

Just relax, and your mind will keep

Everything it sees fit.

Do not rush to awaken yet

Dreamt ideas are best to get

Once your dream ends, you rise

Now work, those new ideas, hard

Write with intention and regard

Shaped, right before your eyes…

Kiss Me Anywhere or Everywhere…

Kiss me in the dark

I don’t care where we are

In the movies or in a park

Or the backseat of my car.

Kiss me in the day

On a lake or by the sea

Be that as it may

As long as you’re close to me.

Kiss me in the rain

Gentle drizzle, or monsoon

It’ll never be in vain

As long as there are stars and moon.

Kiss me in the shower

At the beginning or the end

I’ll open up like a flower

And I’ll never pretend.

Kiss me when the times are hard

Your soft lips will bring me peace

I hold you in the warmest regard

Just like winter’s sweater, fleece.

Kiss me till the end of time

It will never be to my dismay

Until the moment, I turn back to slime

I’ll be feeling the exact same way…

Crushed

She really took him for such a fall.

He had no idea until it was too late.

There’s nothing that could be done at all.

Just pack it up, and call it a day.

Try bouncing a ball against the wall.

That should clear your weary mind.

Or placate further, hike a hill that’s tall.

It’s over now, for this, there is no debate.

One day soon, you’ll be clear of this squall…

QOTD # 121: Cats or Dogs

Dogs or cats?

In a word, both. I love cats and dogs and they love me.

However, do you believe in the law of diminishing returns. Too many of either (cats or dogs) is very unpleasant in my humble opinion.

As always thank you for reading. 😊

QOTD: Time, What Makes me Lose Track of It

Which activities make you lose track of time?

This is a simple question with many answers for me. In the interest of everyone and all the stuff we have to read today I will not digress on these. I’ll just list them.

Activities during which I lose track of time include:

Writing

Reading

Working

Intimacy

Playing board games

Playing video games

Listening to music

Performing music

Playing piano by ear

Movies

Live Concerts

Musicals

Gambling

Swimming

The beach

Phone calls

Video chatting calls.

As always thank you for reading…

Please Stop Wasting our Time!!!!!!!

OK, I am quickly beyond getting over the “accident” posts. I feel like over the past two or three weeks now every athletic (and I do mean every) coach for every city and each sport has died in a car accident or a plane crash.

This also includes professional athletes and tennis players and other managers/owners/coaches as well. Please stop perpetuating these false stories.

I say false stories because there is no way every coach and every athlete has died in a tragic accident in the last three weeks (there’d be nobody left).

<Gets off of soapbox> <turns off ranting and raving button>. Please return to your regularly scheduled programs and thank you for reading…

Pickle Rocket Ships Gag Me With Asparagus

A pickle orders some ice cream.

As the taffeta contours of her dress sway, softly away in the breeze.

The shear sharpness of the lunar surface, gave the astronauts trepidation, as they exited their rocket ship.

Go incognito to a movie theater filled with no one you know.

Hum a mantra of four bars or less.

Asparagus gags me…

Complete This Work

It’s by my own accord.

That I share this verse.

Little else I can afford.

Shaky as I type my prose.

Seeing if my iPhone is mightier than the sword.

Reaching deep inside counting the syllables.

Hanging on my every word.

I really couldn’t do much worse.

So is its completion, my reward???

Share Your World 15, July

As always an optional gratitude section is included at the end.

Here are this week’s questions:

1.  Do you have a bestie (ie. best friend): I have a few but I unfortunately rarely see them.

2.  Do you have a lot of friends? I have a lot of friends and acquaintances, their closeness ebbs and flows like the tides. They come from all walks of life from work, school, band(s), college, and family.

3.  Has a friend ever let you down to the extent that the friendship has died? Many, I lost count… ☹️

4.   Are you more likely to confide in a friend rather than family? Friends as my family sometimes gets a bit judgey as they are very traditional.

Gratitude:

I’m grateful for the life I have right now.

I’m grateful for my writing gifts and talents.

I’m grateful that I get to work from home and live in a great neighborhood.

I’m grateful for music.

I’m grateful for being me

I’m grateful that I woke up this morning.
