Another Narcissist is Born

The world devoured her.

She was a lovely flower.

Her existence, dour.

After the many hard hours.

She turned from sweet to sour…

Innocent flower.

Trapped in the darkest tower.

I feel her cower.

She had immense power.

Until a cruel world destroyed her…

I’m sorry, I’m not your Tata Anymore 💔😭💔

I’m so sorry I’m not your Tata anymore

For others who don’t know, I was your grandfather before.

I know you cried and didn’t understand

Leaving you was not, on purpose or planned.

I know you thought I didn’t care

When you needed me, I was no longer there.

Your nana and I were in misery without love

So we divorced like so many have done.

Sometimes, marriages will go wrong

And someone has to leave that doesn’t belong.

All you knew was I was suddenly gone

Without explanation, you had to carry on.

I moved to Cali and she stayed behind

As our messy marriage did unwind.

I miss holding you as you fell asleep

Watching Disney+ or Clifford’s keep.

Your curly hair and bubbly way

Brightened up my darkened days.

I remember returning from work all and its joys

Playing with you and all your toys.

Drums and lights and music mash

Making their noises and lights would flash.

Later on when I was mostly left alone

You’d still visit me in my master bedroom home.

I told this often as I wanted you to know

“Your Tata will always love you, no matter where he goes”.

I wish I could’ve remained, I miss you all the most

But now to you and the others I’m now just a ghost.

I know you’ve been poisoned against me

I wish you could remember all the truth, and see.

Maybe someday you’ll read these words

And now I continued to love you and it’s not absurd.

So play with your toys and grow up super slow

Because this life can and will be cruel you know.

Have fun times at school and with friends

I pray your childhood fun never ends.

As the tears well up I now say, “adieu”

Dear sweet Charleigh, “Tata loves you”…

Change Your Lense

Take the lense and turn it round

Then look back and see its sound.

All The horrors of your past, aren’t so bad

As time has healed you, no longer sad.

They’re all just lessons that bared repeating

To assure, that you won’t be fleeting.

In a happy future that’ll never cease

Living life with endless peace.

Twist that lense and watch it turn

Past flames that will never further burn.

Take it in stride as your life flows higher

Earlier adversity now you’re admired.

Take those lumps that were dealt to you

And the remove them from somebody new.

It kind of makes it all worthwhile

Coming back from times, you couldn’t smile.

Just take it from me I know the score

Though there’s pain in life, there’s a whole lot more…

Salty Kisses 3 Quatrains)

I can taste the salty sea

On her warm tanning skin

Such a sight of beauty to me

And everything she is, within.

I see her smile in a darkened room

I can hear that gentle laugh

Sweeping her off, I am the broom

Doing my best not to appear daft.

Running fingers through her hair

I hear her sigh, a happy sound

Nothing ever will ever compare

To all the fun that we once found…

How a Poem Comes to Life

Each exhibit begins with an inspiration.

This leads to a written line or two

These are rhymed and placed into a format.

Subsequent lines come quickly afterward

Then additional stanzas appear, if needed

Finally, a closure line, signing, and art imagery are added…

See me cry.

Eight Simple Lunes to Happiness

1. Tell the truth

Honesty is such a virtue

And a rarity.

2. You are strong

Your journey has been difficult

Yet, you’re here.

3. Just, be, love

In a cynic filled world

You are different.

4. Embrace your weirdness

Go against all the grains

In your nonconformity.

5. Forgive all misdeeds

They are your past and,

Don’t matter today.

6. In the moment

Is how you live, now

With less worry.

7. Trust your instincts

They predict all incoming dangers

So, avoid them.

8. Own your journey

It’s who you are and,

All you’ll be…

Emerge, From Your Cocoon!!

Break the chrysalis

Smash the shell

Freed with emphasis

And happiness as well.

You’ve journeyed hard

You’ve quested far

Now clear regard

For all that you are.

The future is today

Not tomorrow

Set your past at bay

And lose all the sorrows.

It’s go time

Your day has arrived

Your doing fine

Pleased that you survived.

Spread your butterfly wings

And fly high and away

The satisfaction your hard work brings

Means more joys when you play.

So sing your songs

With the music, dance

You’ve righted all wrongs

When you have yourself a chance…

Our Best Selves Ever

All we could want, is to

Be the best version of ourselves and have a

Clear set of ideals up front, carefully

Defined and laid out to assure

Excellence and achievement through

Fantastic focus and dedication to all

Goals and aspirations to be our best, and

Handle all situations with care and pride, as

Impossible as it may seem, just

Jump towards a challenge, like a

Kangaroo, ever forward, improving our

Lives, one step and life at a time, with

Much happiness always in our control and

Never allowing ourselves to backslide

Or else, we’ll blow it all and be

Pontificating over all the losses and failures

Quite a sad way to end the journey, instead,

Remember all that’s been learned

So as not to convert those past lessons

To disasters which is a waste of time and will

Unravel all the progress desired, and the

Victories needed to win the game of life’s

Wild side that trip up anyone and make less

X-rays of the past as we’ve learned it all,

Yet there’s always more to master and then,

Zap, you’ve achieved all that you set out to..

QOTD: Favorite Music

What are your favorite genre(s) of music?

This is a difficult question to answer so I’ll grab some “artistic license” and will change it to “What are your favorite genre(s) of music”. This is a more answerable question, one that will allow some digression on my part. Of course what I listen to depends on my mood. It varies greatly. Sometimes I wanna rock out with rock ‘n’ roll, other times I wanna chill with Jazz, and other times I want the gentle finesse of classical.

I have a myriad of genres of music that I love as well as sub-genres of music as well. Many or most of you will recognize most of these but some may not, so enjoy. 😊

I love Rock ‘N’ Roll, Joan Jet was onto something there but just to say I love it is far far, too vague. So, please let me elaborate, a lot on that genre and many others.

Alternative Music

I’ve always been somewhat not into mainstream music as I myself am fairly unique myself.

I love Alternative Rock ‘N’ Roll but there are many genres and there are subs here too. Genres of Alternative Music I love include: 80s New Wave, 80s Techno Pop, 80s Electronic Music, Classic Punk Rock, Hard Core Punk Rock, Modern Punk Rock, Protopunk Rock, Thrasher Punk, industrial, mid, Grunge Rock, Indi (Grunge Light), 90s alternative, Goth Rock, Alternative Country, Retro, and some Emo.

Crossover Rock Genres

There are some music genres I love that crossover across many others including: Power Pop, and BritPop. Bands like Oasis, XTC, Coldplay, Blur, Gorrilaz, and Radiohead exemplify both of these styles and others.

Bands like The Beatles, Queen, The Electric Light Orchestra, Yes, Jellyfish, and Sloan exemplify the big guitars, big drums, and big vocal harmonies of Power Pop and other genres as well.

Classic Rock Genres

I have and forever will love Classic Rock and its sub genres including: Folk, British Invasion, Psychedelic, Fusion, Experimental, Rhythm and Blues, Blues, Yacht Rock, Garage, Jam bands, Progressive (Prog), and Hard Rock.

Heavy Metal

I like many forms of metal genres including: Speed Metal, Death Metal, Hair Band, Progressive Metal, Doom Metal, and Stoner Metal.

Jazz

As a former musician and music aficionado I love: classic jazz, jazz fusion, and modern jazz.

Classical

Again as a musician I love many forms of classical including: chorales, sonatas, baroque, romantic, opera, suite, arias, orchestral, chorale, movie/musical soundtracks, and toccatas.

Pop

Though I am not a big fan of current pop I do love 70s and 80s pop as well.

My music tastes are out there but I do love a lot of music and many genres that are not as well known. I create intricate playlists assuring my work, travel, and play have the best soundtrack around.

As always thank you for reading, and keep listening to amazing music…

Patience, a Virtue

Patience, a virtue at fifty-two

In all creative ventures we try

Trying hard in all we say and do

Requiring obstinance be applied.

Learning new things isn’t as easy

A lot of focus, often needed

Far from our youth this isn’t breezy

As many of our minds, are ceded.

Moving forward, we must try our best

Steeper the hills of journeys to go

All, have to pass that arduous test

Even now, we continue to grow…

Despair, The Devil’s Food

Despair is the devil’s food

And he eats it all the time

The further down we all fall

The far stronger he gets.

Eternal damnation isn’t in hell

It lives in our past as it darkens our mood

Bringing our happiness to sadness

As we face our deepest regrets.

So, when we ponder and want to have it all

Take a few steps back, pause, and think

Emphasizing all that we’ve accomplished

And cleaning up our own mess.

Forged in fire, tempered steel, is our brood

Ever climbing, reach the mountain’s crest.

Too Much

In his thirst for knowledge

He bit of more than he could chew

Now drowning in his porridge

Life passing before him

And everything he knew

Now grasping, struggling, for a point of view…
